Recumbent rides

Post by Tilley »

I posted a thread earlier this month about a potential weekend event for recumbent trikes next year and had some positive responses. So I thought it worth asking if people would like to know about the group rides which I coordinate. I run a Facebook group predominantly for recumbent trike riders in the South West and Wales and attempt to arrange around 6 -10 rides a year. As a group ride the pace will be tailored to suit all of those present. The routes utilise dedicated cycle tracks, shared paths, and the NCN and will have been preridden to ensure that there are no barriers or obstacles which could prevent passage. Whilst the group was arranged for Trike riders I have no objection to other riders attending. If people are interested then I will update this post with ride details.

Hi, I'm a recumbent trike rider in the SW, but not a facebook user, not much of a social media user at all. Is there a decent way to keep in touch with what you're up to that doesn't involve selling my soul to Zuckerberg et al ?

Also, as a side note - I'm planning on riding the Nello on June 30th (https://forcecancercharity.co.uk/nello/), I'm only going for the 60mile route, but it would be really nice to see some other trike riders on the day.

You are far from alone in not suffering Zukkenberger syndrome, not wanting Musk to take out his wrath on you for existing. Too many people using closed systems that spy and track you.

There is a non -cycling activity I do (not so much these days) where the club used to have a web site but it degreaded into doing everything on Facebook and notifications through WhatsApp and I wont do either. There are alternatives.

A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.
