Saw some weekend warrior fat Lycra clad cyclists out braving the weather -- the looks on their faces told the story. The rain was so heavy they didn't hear the van right behind them as they rode 4 abreast and wobbling over the white line so nobody could overtake them.

Several days of sunshine but it's tempered by a chilly wind. At least it's dry.

One lovely day yesterday but skies dark and rain hammering down today. At least it's not bitterly cold.

May was very warm. From the 11th onwards for almost four weeks we had unbroken sunshine and 20-29c. For the last 2.5 weeks it's been cooler and changeable, but yesterday got to 28c and next week is wall to wall sunhine and high twenties.

Wild extremes of temperatures in such a short time.

Spring lasted all of about a week. Genuinely went from the last snow to 20c plus in about 10 days.

And Devon too.

Scotland would sometimes skip summer entirely and Devon would sometimes completely skip winter (replacing it with perpetual rain).

I enjoy seasons.

We're much the same as Scotland only maybe not as cold as the north of Scotland but very windy up where I live.

Very pleasant here today though -- about 17°c and not much wind for a change.

Had a bad cold this week ( had to take a few days off work -- which is not like me -- could've been covid again -- it's doing the rounds here apparently but not surprised due to the Baltic weather we've been getting this last while. )

Anyway

As the fever, shivers, snotters and extreme tiredness has subsided replaced by sweating yesterday I thought it's electric bike time. So just back from a very pleasant 15 miles on that.

It's July and we still need the heating on -- on the plus side it's finally stopped raining today after weeks ( now months ) of rain with the odd dry day.
