Don't subscribe to CUK but I've have quite a few Direct Debits and automated payments (where 3rd party just takes money from my current account) for many many years and never ever had an issue with multiple or incorrect payments.

I'd be pretty annoyed if it had happened to me, I pay my subs on a monthly DD which hasn't been effected and would obviously be a smaller amount if it had. But as already pointed out, you can't be out of pocket, so it's just the hassle and inconvenience. I can't imagine I'd re-consider my membership over a payment glitch, it wouldn't fundamentally change the reasons I'm a member.
