Swytch Bike - Customer Service
I purchased my conversion kit 8 months ago and it was delivered 7 week, part of the kit faulty so my bike is unusable, despite countless attempts to contact Swytch they just ignore or respond with a holding question, no phone number to call, it’s so frustrating. What do I do, how do I get my money back? Has anyone had the same experience and found a solution?

Sorry to hear this.
I had a problem with my first Swytch kit and I found the technical help first rate. Also, subsequent help when I needed a new PAS sensor when my original developed an intermittent fault, out of the warranty period.
I used the email contact but they both called me and we did a video call to establish the issue in the first instance.

Email response is weekly! I’ve been using my leg power for about 3 months now. If I had the option I’d never buy a swytch again.

Swytch CS is pi$$ poor , well documented on pedelecs forum .

I've recently installed a Swytch Max Air kit on my Brompton, the 20mile range option. Riding on the flat in level 1 or 2 I get about 12-14 miles from my battery. I got double that riding the same bike on the same roads using a battery borrowed from a pal to test it out. I emailed Swytch about this on 13th May, 10 days ago. They acknowledged it with a computer generated response but no one has contacted me yet. This is totally infuriating! Any advice welcomed

I can totally concur with others on this thread, regarding the Swytch support service, or lack thereof.
Great product - but trying to get anyone to answer even a simple question is impossible. They do get back to you eventually, but other than the computer-generated auto response it can take weeks for anyone to actually answer your question. And unfortunately that can be a generic response which doesn’t really answer your question - someone just copying and pasting from the generic response book!
Disappointing, as the lack of serious, real time support is really letting down an otherwise good bit of gear.

I’m really looking forward to delivery of our swytch kits but I am really disappointed with their customer service. We were given a delivery window of a whole month and on the last day of the month after emailing them I have been informed that this window has now been moved to the following month. Better communication about delivery would have helped massively as we had plans to use the kits as part of our planned holiday and we could have made contingency plans if we had known or had been told there was a possibility that the delivery of kits would be delayed by a month.

My Swytch experience, from about 3 years ago, was generally positive.
An intermittent fault, causing low speed jerky power delivery, was correctly identified as a problem with the controller in the battery pack which was duly replaced. A pas sensor started misbehaving, well out of warranty but buying a replacement was easy.
The one issue was when I enquired about buying a different wheel to swap the kit to a different bike. Although they were willing to supply, they encouraged me to buy a complete updated version of the kit. I thought the wheel alone was a bit expensive so sourced one elsewhere.
Maybe things are less good now but I would buy from them again!

I’m not saying they don't make a good product or that their customer service is poor - I don't have much experience of either, but I am saying their pre-order business model may not suit everyone.
My own experience with a direct competitor, nano, has been very different. I’ve got great service, excellent comm.s and effective results from their guys, whenever I’ve needed their help.

I'm sure the Swytch will suit some people but I must admit the value of it looks terrible to me and they seem to keep lowering battery capacity in order to create more margin for themselves as the cells are overall the most expensive part of a ebike kit. I'm guessing with many Swytch kits it is actually the motor now that is the most expensive part as some of their battery packs look little better than a USB power bank.

Again my comment is about nano, so not directly relevant, but it may help others come to a decision. Nano decided to base their offer on the ubiquitous Bosch 36v tool battery. (They offer a chunkier, bigger capacity battery, too, but I was only really interested in those that weigh/cost less.) They figured that it was easy to get, fairly light, legal to carry on a plane and not too dear. I think they got that right and unlike swytch, they’ve stuck to their choice.
As an aside, I recently identified that bosch make a 2ah battery, which is impressively light at .7kg - the 6ah version weighs double that. So I bought a newish example off of your friend and mine eBay for c. £40 and so far have found it perfectly adequate for my commonest journey, the trip into town & back, ie a total of < 15 km. A Good Buy!

Echoing Simonineaston, we have an ARCC Moulton that uses the Bosch batteries and I like those a lot! Plus they fit my mower!

Thread drift, I know… but thinking about the Bosch tool battery range, I’ve already mentioned the fact that they make several versions, but just to state the obvious, the commonest (the 4ah) is also the least useful, in that the 2ah is by far the lightest and the 6ah has the highest capacity.
Funnily enough, they are both relatively hard to find… indeed it was literally years before I even knew of their existence!
