I popped this in the touring section, but thought I might have some luck here.
'm headed off on a long weekend (4 day/3 night) trip with my toddler (just over 2.5) on the August bank holiday weekend. I'm leaving from Yatton on the Friday and headed off down the Strawberry Line to Cheddar. From there, we're headed to Brean, and then from Brean to Clevedon (well Kingston Seymour with the Monday spent in Clevedon before riding home). We're camping in Cheddar, Brean, and Kingston Seymour. The route is a combination of off-road family friendly shared use paths and quiet roads, and it's not too hilly with nothing more than 20ish miles/day of riding. Pace will be chill, with lots of stops for playing, picnics, running around on the beach, and letting the little ones have fun. I did the route last year with my little one and he had an absolute ball. The campsites in Cheddar and Brean had play areas for the kids and cafes/shops on site. Kingston Seymour was tiny, but we had fun blackberry picking and ordering dominoes/running around the field. There is a cafe on site that is open for breakfast.
If anyone is interested in joining, please comment here or send me a PM. It would be nice to have some adult company. And for my son to have some other littles to play with.

Re: Family friendly long weekend away
How was it? We hired a cargo bike this week in London and did some trips along the London cycleways with 4 small children (ages 2-9) and had a good time. Not so good outside the cycleways where the cycle path quality was poor and sometimes too overgrown or narrow for a cargo. Hotel prices were much cheaper on weekends compared with weekdays!
