2024 Vuelta

Post by TrevA »

I’m surprised there has been no comment on this event.

It’s been quite interesting so far. Ben O’Connor got in a breakaway and got a 5 minute overall lead over a week ago. Roglic has been gradually chipping away at that, often dropping O’ Connor on the last climb. It’s now down to 5 seconds after today’s stage. One wonders how much longer he can hang on to the lead.

There have been some good individual rides too. Adam Yates winning a stage on his own. A Spanish rider riding for an invited Pro-Conti team who’s never won a race before. He has now won 2 of the hardest stages. It’s certainly been more entertaining than the TDF.

I have been watching and enjoying it, or rather enjoying it until yesterday when Wout dipped in to his well of misfortune again :(
At least he doesn't seem to have broken anything...

It's on Discovery+ ( not discovery from sky that'll cost a small fortune / month ) -- for £56 / year you can't beat the value. I have it for the BSB and I'd pay if that's all that was on it. ( best race series in the world IMO -- these lads and lassies are modern day gladiators )
I am here. Where are you?

It's been fantastic.
But WvA crashing out has popped the balloon for me.
I'd love O'connor to hold on, but can't see it.
Not sure how I feel about 75kg double stage winners in precipitous mountain finishes either...

... also, the rain in Spain seems to be a bit Scottish up there in the North West!

Kern Pharma team at it again yesterday. Looks like O Connor might finally lose the jersey today. Very hard finish.

Truly valiant effort by O'Connor to hold on to a podium finish.
As always my favourite of the big 3 Tours.
