Swytch battery replacement

Post by radiatewishbone540 »

I have a Gen 2 Eco battery which has died. I'm therefore looking to replace the battery.

Has anyone done this before, and can point me to replacements batteries online that would be compatible with the rest of the Swytch kit?

I am aware that all I would need to do to figure out compatibility is look at the specifications listed on the side of the battery. However, for some reason, the battery is jammed inside the zip-up case that it comes in, and I am therefore unable to inspect the specifications as well as the exact dimensions of the battery case and cell inside it.

Any advice is appreciated.

Have you tried asking the folks in pedelecs.co.uk ? There's a good few posts around on that forum dealing with the sort of issue you are facing.

Broadly speaking (I’m learning…) compatibility rests with two criteria: voltage and physical connection. My own Nano converted cycles are happy to run on the Bosch 36v tool batteries they were designed around, but as there are lots of tool batteries that are similar, I’m starting to experiment with variants of the battery mount, that will fit on to other tool batteries from say Makita and Aldi.
Its important you know what you doing re the ‘leccy, as the direct current that comes out these battery blocks is tough stuff… guess how I know!
