Thank-you Vorpal.

To explain my request - I had no objection to the thread appearing in this section of the forum because it helped lend some background, especially to the OP's question. However, stood in isolation on the Campaigning & Public Policy section it made no sense at all and, IMO, unfairly represented me. I had already deleted my posts on the original thread and so the short sections that remained in quotes no longer represented the whole picture. It was a Lazarus returned from the dead with parts of him missing.

What about all the other (unrelated, uncontroversial) threads

eg
Thread titled "Deleted" about saddles (no controvercy) viewtopic.php?p=1870164
Thread titled "Deleted" about Derailleur hangers ? (no controvercy) viewtopic.php?p=1870042
Thread titled "Deleted" about like/dislike button? (no controvercy) viewtopic.php?p=1869182
Thread titled "Deleted" maybe about roof racks? (no controvercy) viewtopic.php?p=1868748
Thread titled "Deleted" maybe about returning to cycling (no controvercy) viewtopic.php?p=1868109
Thread titled "Deleted" about cycle nostalgia (no controversy) viewtopic.php?p=1868337
etc.

I'd already told you publicly why I'd deleted my posts in those threads. It wasn't to "destroy" them, it was to lessen my internet footprint. They weren't important threads, or long threads and didn't leave anyone else looking silly. If I'd thought it'd leave anyone looking foolish then I'd have done it another way. I can only delete my part of those threads, if you want the rest of them removed then please go-ahead. I'm only posting on this thread because I'm directly involved in the needless storm it seems to have brewed-up.

I really just want to leave this now and let the thread, and whole matter, die a natural death. I wish all of you well.

Then you should think about that before posting on a public forum, especially when asking for advice.
There are other internet channels that lack this sort of permanence. If they won't suffice, I'm afraid it's tough cheese.

(IMO you need to be pretty paranoid to worry about your posts, when using an alias like yours. What more privacy do you want from the forum owners/admins?!?)

Or if a selected alias does give away more than individual is happy abut, ask moderators to change it.
