This must be what you half heard. It comes from Boris's new memoirs, and is probably as reliable as anything he says or writes.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have planted a listening device in the bathroom of Britain’s ex-premier Boris Johnson when visiting the then-foreign minister’s office in 2017, according to an excerpt from Johnson’s upcoming memoir obtained by British media.

Quoting the excerpt from “Unleashed,” which is set for release later this month, The Telegraph reported Thursday that Netanyahu, then on his first-ever visit to the London office, asked to use the bathroom that Johnson describes as similar to “the gents in a posh London club” which exist within a “secret annex.”

“Thither Bibi repaired for a while,” writes Johnson, referring to the premier by his nickname, “and it may or may not be a coincidence but I am told that later, when they were doing a regular sweep for bugs, they found a listening device in the thunderbox.”

The Telegraph said it was unclear whether Israel was at all confronted over the incident.

Asked for further comment, Johnson told The Telegraph: “I think everything you need to know about that episode is in the book.”

Is that as far fetched as intercepting electronic pagers, fitting them with explosive devices and then allowing for their redistribution? Or less so? It's the litmus test, because if Israel was behind that plan - then placing bugs in the toilet is within the realm of possibilities ..

I wonder if you actually transfered the percentages by GE 2024 vote into numbers based on total vote for weach party, I wonder if there are more labour voters choosing not far enough option than Tories and possibly all but reform? I have no idea but I find that idea interesting, not that it would exactly work out just that it might be interesting to see what this data indicates if you could or did convert to actual numbers of people.

I am not making a point as it does seem that there are some very hardline pro Israeli people in all parties including libDems and Labour. Would you expect that the three biggest parties in that data had not too far off similar percentages with the hardline view?

Why? Did Boris also say that Israel put explosives in their pagers too?

I think there is a key difference, Hezbollah is the enemy and we are the ally. If you see yourself at war with some country or grouping then it is not out of the realms of realityh to place explosives in devices or other items to blow the enemy up. IIRC Britain used exploding dog poo in WWII so we have done some X type weaponry before now and no doubt still have the capability to do more now.

Not on any personal level. As far as I am aware, I have never been threatened by hezbollah specifically nor any faith group generally. I even get on with my partners brother in law who is Muslim.. I keep reminding him that he shouldn't drink alcohol ;-)
As far as I am aware, I have not asked for the deaths of any civilians in this situation, and it is my hope that all those facing un claims for war crimes (on both sides) are swiftly brought to justice.

For me one of their dodgy actions is Israel's refusal to allow foreign journalists (including the BBC) into Gaza.
If all they say about their invasion is justified why not let journalists report on it from the ground?

I was watching a rather good documentary about the well-known war photographer Don McCullin at the week-end and noted with sinking heart that the hard right element in Israel have been responsible for the same sort of death & destruction in neighbouring countries we’re witnessing now, going back to the ‘80s.
In the film, Don describes the horrific massacre of Palestinian refugees in Sabra and Shatila. This event is said to have been instrumental in the founding of Hezbullah. Thus we see the dreadful wheel turning round, over and over again…

Unfortunately, the winners are never pursued for war crimes. Even less likely for Israel with its staunch allies e.g. USA and UK.

Yes,it stands out like a sore thumb
The events of 7 Sept 2023 as bad as they were, were the excuse for Israel to go full on genoside against Gaza and the Palastinian people and the UK,US along with other western countries are encouraging it by continuing to supply Israel with weapons to continue the murder.
We are now witnessing Israel's second phase of murder of helpless civilians continues, where it will end we can only speculate but one thing's for sure more innocents will die as a result of Israel's ethnic cleansing and murdering of it's neighbours continues.

And all from a race of people who themselves were on the receiving end of genoside within living memory.

Interesting and poingnant speech on Gaza by Jordan's foreign minister in relation to Germany's continuing support for Israel's genocide and where it's leading in the long term:- https://youtu.be/1nALLvO8Tg4?si=flzB-2YfMvB454tz

We read gloomily that religion-rooted massacres have been occurring hereabouts since they wrote the book…

Thanks for that link. Its so rare to hear someone talk about this ongoing war in such a reasonable calm tone.
