Reduced reply length/ nesting

Post by roubaixtuesday »

As noted in thread linked below, some forums only show one response, and limit the display of it to just a few lines, but here you have to do it yourself, and I'm too slothful to bother. And it's not just me.

It it possible to change the forum here in this sort of way?

We're using phpBB [https://www.phpbb.com].

I can't find any phpBB extensions that would do that (see https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/), so the answer is "yes, it's possible, but probably too much work to be worthwhile.".

In the past on this site I could select some of the text then hit the quote button and only that selected was quoted. Not been able to do that for a number of years and currently it does make having to cut text from the quoted a pain to make it briefly what you are replying to.

You can still do it. Click on 'Post Reply' to generate a blank reply text box, scroll down to see recent thread posts, select and highlight the particular text you wish to quote, and then click on the quote button in that post.

Using Safari on IOS you can’t do it.
Following your instructions I selected 'you can still do it' from your post and ended up with what you see.

Edit Actually using DuckDuckGo at the moment but the same applies for Safari.
