Mahle X35 Range Extender Wiring

Post by GoudhurstMike »

My plug broke on my X35 range extender. I bought a Mahle extension cable and cut off the plug to try and make a join. Wires coming out of the extender battery are black red grey orange. Wires coming out of the plug are black red yellow green blue. Does anyone know what contexts to what?

I don’t know, but I reckon you can find out:
On the new plug/lead, check for continuity between the wire and the plug contacts using a bulb, battery and a couple of bits of wire (assuming you don’t have a multimeter)
You can (carefully!) dissect the old plug/lead to see who joins to what.

Remember, anything you do (or don't do) to your bike can have safety implications

If you haven't already, ask the question on pedelec.co.uk where there's a wider audience of e-bikers.
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey
