Overuse Injuries in Cycling and Recovery Methods

Post by joshkingsbury »

Hi all, I'm a Product Design student & bike enthusiast looking for some valuable insights for a university research project.

I'm conducting a brief survey on the topic of overuse/non-traumatic cycling related injuries to help design a product or service to assist with recovery. I know your time is precious but your input is really valuable and could help improve the resources of our community. Please note I am looking for insights specifically on non-traumatic injuries (those developed because of repetitive strain on certain muscles or joints rather than crashes).

Your responses will remain anonymous (unless specified at the end of the survey), and all data will be securely stored in Google Drive, to ensure your privacy and data protection.

Take the survey: https://forms.gle/BjGimjRqHJq2HR7v6

Please feel free to further discuss the topic or ask additional questions about the study in this post.

Thank you all for your assistance & I wish you all an injury free 2025!

Hi

Done.

You've got some of the crucial bits in the introductory paragraph. It would be good practice to include:
* Any ethical approval, or whether it was decided to be unnecessary
• What the data will be used for, and whether there are any commercial interests
• How subjects willl be told the findings.

Good luck

An overuse injury could and probably should include saddle sores whose origin and treatment are as many and varied as there are cyclists or at least types and categories of cyclists.Seeing as these afflict newbies as well as professional riders,I reckon you might usefully include this in your treatise,tretise,treatice,treateas.......I give up... :roll:My experience ? On and off for years, currently treated with reduction in mileage, new, good quality shorts, saddle cream and saddles, the latter all replaced a few years back with the same model.Often a case of suck it and see .
