Mont Blanc Express

Post by Thehairs1970 »

Anybody had any experience of taking a loaded tourer on the Mont Blanc express? Looking at it as a possibIlity to go from Martigny to Vallorcine before cycling on to Chamonix. Bikes are possible, it says, but wondering how easy it is.

No personal experience, but it looks to be level-ish boarding and wide doors (bike logo visible on the first window to the left of the doors):

Not used it in 2 years but it's usually full of bikes!

Ah! A user. I guess you can’t book it. Is it best to get to Martigny early to guarantee places? There will be three of us travelling together. Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks

Sorry not used it from Swiss side (with a bike) but I suspect it's just walk on as the border is Schengen (open) and being with a bike isn't at all special on that train, very open plan doorways besides having the marked bike area.
