Some people with ASD are objecting to the Nazi salute being blamed on ASDs, because they are not usually Nazis.
And no, I wouldn’t buy a Tesla.
I read that Musk is asking people to stop calling them Swasticars!

Swasticars! I must use that word at every opportunity. :D

Tesla, the world’s largest EV maker, in January registered only 1,277 new cars in Germany

it’s a drop of 59% compared with the same month last year

That’s a significant drop, pity it wasn’t 100%.
Don’t fret, it’s OK to: ride a simple old bike; ride slowly, walk, rest and admire the view; ride off-road; ride in your raincoat; ride by yourself; ride in the dark; and ride one hundred yards or one hundred miles. Your bike and your choices to suit you.

Musk has offered nearly 100 billion US $ for some chat bot AI.
(A billion has two distinct definitions( in this age of precision!) but in this case the lower version of one billion equals 100 million.)

Just to try to put some perspective onto it I took the humble Airbus as a datum point.
Airbus as a company has TOTAL assets of $118. 87 billion.(2023 wiki).

A new Airbus 320 costs today about 100 million dollars, certificated and ready to fly.
It has been in production for 35 odd years and over 10,000 have been made. (Airbus make lots of other models too).

So Musk's offer for a bit of software equals 980 new Airbus's!!!
Or nearly a tenth of total produced models.

This was all done on the back of a fag packet.
Off to get firewood etc!!
Stop the world.......

A thousand million...

It's an american billion, rather than a proper one.

I miss the milliard...
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

To be clear, he offered $97.4 billion.

And I like the milliard too.

In return, the AI company owner offered to buy Xitter off ElMo for a smaller amount. It's a spat between Trump's courtier nerds.

IMO this is going way too far, but it does illustrate how badly Trump has damaged his own business:

Musk not such a genius after all...
Of course, if he is a Russian or Chinese asset, the chaos and incompetence is probably deliberate.

One might just think that Russia and China had been fantastically successful in at least hobbling the USA. I wonder what all the upshot of this will be and whether those that manage our defence will understand that spies and disruptors operating within and into our country cause damage that will destroy us? Of course there’s an alternative reasoning: those at the centre of power who are creating chaos will be best placed to benefit from the consequences - they’ll be gaining assets for cents in the dollar and plundering tax payer funds too.
