This is what I and others have warned about.. a skewed history written by people with a view, profession or allegiance that employs them to write down on Wikipedia a warped history and had the luxury of time to do so. The real history being completely lost for expediencies or politics sake.

But we'll be ruled by people or more likely machines that rely on only the history someone has written and not what life was really like for the majority of ordinary people just trying to get through life. Maybe this is why the world is so divided right now.

We only hear all the bad news most of the time. A quote from my granny " I don't watch the news cos it's only bad news " she was right .. good news finds it a lot harder to make the headlines. She worked hard but lived peacefully, simply, you'd never hear her say a bad word about anyone and enjoyed life.

Chat GBT is only an LLM. The quantum computers are a new generation of computer which I think has much more potential to be a more formidable thing.

This is what I am talking about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRN2p7sSL_Y&t=1548s

If that doesn't skip to the relevant part it's at 25m 48s.

Please watch that to the end and then, look at the title. It's such a complicated issue and so many individual issues are covered here, but it all ties into the same thing to me. We are "going to hell in a handbasket" as they say in the US.

That video is this thread in a nutshell and I never even thought about the population reducing but it is. Everyone is working harder and getting less real-world payment, or benefit for it. I have my own theory on why less children are born now and the solution isn't pleasant - it's because as we become more developed, we have less reason to survive because we are safer, but that lack of safety is what drives us to need to have children - a threat on our lives, like war or a really bad situation, hence the baby boom after WW2... everyone was so glad to still be alive we "mated" more and more children were born, but what if that threat to survival is taken away for 80 years? Welcome to 2025. It's just my theory, coupled with all the other stuff mentioned in the Thoughty2 video about the big squeeze this topic was originally about.
We'll always be together, together on electric bikes.

One thing that worries me is the thought that with a decline in religion (and I am a non-believer) in the UK we don't have a shared sense of good and evil. Okay, I know, some of what we once thought bad is now considered okay, but I fear a society without a basic sense of goodness would be a society without cohesion. I don't want to go back to the times when being gay was a sin, or being non-Christian was a cause for mistrust. But I fear what our society will become when more people question why we should be kind towards each other. We no longer have the certainties provided by God.
