I think Chat Noir's approach has a lot of merit. Do a circular tour from your house. If you aren't fit enough to do that then consider a train part way. It's always the last legs to or from either Penzance or JOG. So don't start or finish your ride there. Plan for a train one or two day away from the lejog end points d cycle those last bits. An extra 4 days and all the travel hassles disappear, plus what can be the most stressful part for many is now a nice ore ride warm up / down.

I've done that twice now.
I plan on spending £20 per day on tour.
Accommodation is mainly camping.
The only problem is my tours are +120 days long.
Re: How much does a self planned Lejog cost ....
Our LEJOG has just cost - for two of us:
Train fares (bought in advance using two together card) £ 134.60
All food & drink (includes tips where appropriate). £ 707.66
Bed and breakfast accommodation (which ranged from B&B's, pubs and Travelodges) £1197.90
Dishes & spoons (for when we bought our own cereal & milk to eat in Travelodges). £ 7.72
Strip maps (prepared by hubby and printed off professionally as our printer not up to it!). £ 11.94
Total cost £2059.82
This cost, which is purely for the time we were away, includes a total of 19 days away (each train trip was from/to the Manchester area so travelling all day) and 18 days accommodation. (Our LEJOG took us 17 days). So it averages out at less than £55 per day per person in total.

Looking for supported camping Lejog tour company
I'm looking for a tour company offering a 3 week Lejog with camping. I can't manage to carry all the gear and I prefer camping anyway. Any ideas ?
