Hi
Please don't troll me for the colour request, I suspect almost everyone here is function over form, but 7 year olds don't work that way.
My stepdaughter has just about outgrown her 20 inch wheel frog bike. This is her second bike. Her first was a pink, weighty, no-brand, tiny wheeled, Amazon special. It was awful for her to try to learn on. I convinced my partner to get a much better, pink, lighter, second-hand frog bike and my stepdaughter went from unable to ride, to stabiliser free in about an hour.
But we always knew that the frog bike was only going to last 6 months to a year before being outgrown.
You might see the trend. My stepdaughter is a massive fan of pink and really wants a pink bike. I have no desire to change her mind - she likes what she likes and that's fine.
But it seems bike manufacturers disagree. All their 24 inch wheel bikes seem to be red, black, orange or teal.
Does anybody know of any manufacturer that produces good, light, pink bikes?
Decent PINK kids bike for 7 year old
Re: Decent PINK kids bike for 7 year old
i bought a secondhand carrera 24" wheel bike for my grandaughtet. it was red colourwise but had been kept outside so bleached by the sun. youd be hard pressed to tell if it was now red or pink.

Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X2, Raleigh 20 stowaway X2, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840, Giant Bowery, Apollo transition.

How about black with pink stripes? Buy her a tin of Humbrol and a brush, masking tape, etc. Pink and teal might work. PInk and orange not so good.Philrosenberg wrote: 9 Aug 2025, 11:19am .....

Just a thought.

My daughter had a dark pink Falcon from a local bike recycler for £20 before a subsequent purple (which seems widely acceptable to Team Pink) Islabike.
Given recyclers deal with old bikes you might find one from a year when pink was more widely available?
Or you could spend a bit extra and get the frame of your choice repainted!
Pete.

Put "pink bike" into Facebook 'Market Place' and see what turns up .
You don't stop cycling when you get old.
You get old when you stop cycling

We had a 24" specialized FS bike for a while. Worth a search.

I'd include Gumtree in the search.

Getting a frame powder coated is around £50-70, might be easier?
Re: Decent PINK kids bike for 7 year old
I did mention a repaint higher up, and the more I think about it the better I think it may be as an option: she can choose the exact shade she wants from a RAL chart and you can buy the actual bike based on it being a decent bike, rather than the best you can find that happens to be pink.hamster wrote: 12 Aug 2025, 12:33pm Getting a frame powder coated is around £50-70, might be easier?
