LEJOG book

Post by mattsccm »

Can anyone point me to an up to date history of LEJOG records etc?
I have Alan Rays book but that was published in 1971 so is nowadays somewhat incomplete.
A book would be nice, not just a list although I suspect it isn't out there.
Thanks

John Taylor’s The “EndToEnd” Story (100 years of Cycling Records) is a good read. My copy dates from 2005 but only includes records up to 2002. I don’t know if there’s anything more recent.

Wikipedia has a page of more up to date records but obviously not a book.

There are up to date details of current LEJOG record holders on the Road Records Association (RRA) web site.

http://www.rra.org.uk/index.html?ifrm_1 ... place.html

I don’t know if all of their publications are still in print but if you click on the publications link you may also be interested in Roy Green’s 100 years of Cycling Road Records, which covers the first hundred years of the RRA. There’s also John Taylors sequel to that book which covers the next 25 years, from 1988-2013, and a further update to that, available only as a PDF.
