Apologies for getting back to the original subject...
How about DDHammocks Magic Carpet? https://www.ddhammocks.com/products/dd_magic_carpet The regular size is 140cm x 140cm and the XL is 220cm x 140cm so could be folded.Might have to add an eyelet or two. They have a myriad of uses!

You'll need something nearby to fix to -- might be a good option for motorcycle camping though as a shelter.Slowroad wrote: 12 Oct 2025, 8:30pm Apologies for getting back to the original subject...![]()

Meanwhile the guy lines arrived for the Highlander / Harris shown up thread -- 4 for about £5 -- two I'll use on this and two more for the tent if I'm back in storm winds next year again -- hope not to have to use them.

Re: Small windbreak?
General tip on guylines for any tent... if they don't use Clamcleat Line Loks or very similar I'd consider swapping them out, the Line Loks are miles better than the more typical metal strip with a kink and a couple of holes.Cowsham wrote: 13 Oct 2025, 11:45am Meanwhile the guy lines arrived for the Highlander / Harris shown up thread -- 4 for about £5 -- two I'll use on this and two more for the tent if I'm back in storm winds next year again -- hope not to have to use them.

Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...
Re: Small windbreak?
My vango tents guy lines have a very similar linelocks -- I might get some of those clamcleats cos the ones on those packet of 4 are plastic with two holes which aren't the best thing.pjclinch wrote: 13 Oct 2025, 12:38pmGeneral tip on guylines for any tent... if they don't use Clamcleat Line Loks or very similar I'd consider swapping them out, the Line Loks are miles better than the more typical metal strip with a kink and a couple of holes.Cowsham wrote: 13 Oct 2025, 11:45am Meanwhile the guy lines arrived for the Highlander / Harris shown up thread -- 4 for about £5 -- two I'll use on this and two more for the tent if I'm back in storm winds next year again -- hope not to have to use them.

I have a short pole which folds in half for one end, the tent is the other end. I use guy ropes or the bungee that holds my tent on my panniers.Slowroad wrote: 12 Oct 2025, 8:30pm

Let's see if I can dig out a photo... Here it is - in fact there's two - though in this case it's the Vango tarp and in one a fence was involved...
