My original U Lock, a few years old, suddenly started to stick half way through the key turn.
Much lubrication later there was no improvement.
After checking on the FAQ at the Kryptonite site, I discovered that the bracket thingies on the U part can move, and so stop the lock part seating fully.
That is, the alloy bit on the U part which slots into a carrier on the frame.
A quick twiddle with a hex key and the bracket moved down the tube ever so slightly.
Now working as it should.

just to note; there are two different shackle diameters used by Kryptonite, so swapping the Al part around isn't always possible

Thanks for the heads up. Ive had similar issues and resorted to using another lock as i dont want to get stranded with a bike i cant unlock, mikes from home!
