and in the meantime the big bike brands and e.g. Halford have raised their game with lighter bikes with child sized brake levers etc.
This is definitely true. There is now much less “clear blue water” in terms of quality between a Frog and the better of the more mainstream offerings.

There are, of course, still some truly horrible kids bikes on the market at the very cheapest end of the spectrum, just as there are still some truly horrible adults bikes on the market.

The stuff about high street rents, rates and taxes seems relevant to a retailer, rather than a manufacturer.

Business Property rates affect both manufacturer and retailer and is extremely expensive.

They also apply to offices, which is going to be more relevant to Frog. For manufacturing, they'll be paying whatever the equivalent of business rates are in Taiwan or somewhere – they're not manufactured in Britain are they?

"They started manufacturing in the UK in 2016 moving production back from China to improve lead times and quality."

but I don't know if that's up to date.

That has to be assembly in the UK, surely? I can’t image they’re welding their own aluminium frames here.

China's not the small sweat shop chanty towns it used to be. There are state of the art factories churning out some amazing products. We are becoming more towards the 3rd world end of world economics so it wouldn't surprise me if some manufacturing comes back here. The Chinese people expect better wages and working conditions now. The tide is against on our over regulated ( over taxed too ) pampered workforce.
