I was going to order a Hollowtech 2 PAS sensor, but then discovered they are not compatible with KT controllers ......
What was the nature of the incompatability? I fitted that type of sensor to my conversion (Road bike with Campag bearing but they are the same size as Hollowtech ones) and I used a KT controller.
I got the PAS sensor from Amazon (now £28) but the same is on eBay for £25.
The magnetic ring is in two parts and sized to fit quite a small chainring (something like 28 teeth iirc?). My chainring was 34 teeth so I made a 3d printed intermediate 'flange' to fix the magnetic ring to my chainring.

Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey
But I see now it wasn't a Hollowtech PAS. So thanks . Will reconsider.
I see - I remember reading that thread - posters like @saneagle and @nealh are of course most knowledgeable folks.
When you get as far as connecting it all up, you'll need to be configuring all the parameters required by the KT controller so it acts appropriately with the peripheral devices - it's a bit of a learning curve. I spent some time setting my system up and made notes of why I set what parameter to what because I knew I'd never remember it all .
I note you are in the Portsmouth area - me too, so if you get really stuck I'd be very pleased to help if I can.
And on another note - might you be the trike rider who used to commute to QA Hospital? If you are, apart from seeing you on local roads, I met you once whilst pedalling around the I-o-W on one of their randonees.

Well, if the Hollowtech sensor works for you then that's pretty good proof that it's compatible with a KT controller.
I have some notes on configuring the controller from the vendor and there are YT videos so I'm not expecting it to be too difficult thanks.
Yes, I did commute to QA on a recumbent trike for many years and completed the IOW Randonee a number of times, but there was another guy who had a beard who did likewise. My commute was over Portsdown Hill on the A3 from Waterlooville and I don't have a beard. He commuted from Fareham. I see the Randonee has now been moved to Sept. I would like to do it again.
Ah, right - the guy I met on the randonee had a beard so I guess we've yet to meet. I live in Rowlands Castle so there's a good chance we will meet up some time - the world's too small not to.
I often ride with Portsmouth CTC out of Havant and there's a growing number of e-bike riders as our ages ascend the lofty ladder of time - maybe when your conversion is done......?
In the meantime I'll watch your posts with interest, best wishes, AlanM

I'm often out through Horndean, Finchdean, Idsworth to QE Country Park. Sometimes to Chichester. If you see a recumbent bike or trike in those areas, it's probably me.
I ought to look into meeting up with Portsmouth CTC. What days do they have regular rides? Think I've seen them out and about on Wednesdays.
The main ride days are Wednesday and Saturday but other days pop up now and again especially if the weather dictates better days. We are an older collection of riders (50-80 yrs old?) and ride groups vary in speed from those capable of Audax riding (but not time trialers / chain gangers) down through those liking all day moderate paced rides, half day rides and maybe just morning coffee meets somewhere local but faster than typical U3A groups though.
One of our more enegetic ride leaders has recently gone recumbent trike due to the sudden onset of balance issues and another ocassional trike ride when they fancy a change. The ride leader usually leads a ride on their trke at least once a week.

Perhaps I'm a wee bit late joining this topic, but here's what I have. I found this Raleigh Pioneer, the upgraded version, which ebikes direct were selling for about £330. The next day it was £440. It was old stock and originally cost about £550 so I was very lucky.
I fitted a Swytch kit and have had a great deal of enjoyment riding it. One trip included a 43mile circuit of the roads used in the Etape Caledonia. The display was flashing on one bar of battery for many miles after we passed the famous roadsign to Dulll , but got me back to our base in Pitlochry via the hilly wee road between Logierait and Pitlochry, still giving me some e assistance!
The Swytch delivery and after sales attention was first class, but I was very annoyed with the 20 or more unnecessary and unwanted confusing messages from their marketing department between ordering and delivery,
Very smart! I managed to buy my Cannondale new from Evans for £200. But that was a couple of years ago.
My need is for a 50 mile commute with some short steep slopes, so a Swytch kit wasn't in the frame. Have you had any front wheel spin in the wet on slopes?
The front wheel has never given me any bother, but I've not been many places where there's a layer of gravel on a gradient. The only difference I found was when accelerating out of a tight corner and maybe climbing as well just what we have here on a path through a park. There's a tendency for the wheel to snatch a wee bit just on full lock, hardly noticeable, but it's easy to get used to.
By the way the bike is BURGUNDY and grey, not pink and grey
