Back in the late 80s a group of family and friends would periodically meet up in the Lake District for a walking/climbing weekend. It rained so often on those that we took up caving in the Yorkshire Dales instead!
Maybe it was my dad in the Lakes that was the rain magnet. Once we had a family holiday there, with me staying on at Scout camp afterwards. Family holiday was a total washout, Scout camp just up the road immediately afterwards was a non-stop sun roasting!
The variation in weather apps can be great for letting you do what you want. If you want to go out anyway you just nose around until you find a good forecast and if you actually CBA then nose around until you find a bad one. If you do go out then pack a shell just in case...
