For about ten years I have had a Tout Terrain bike equipped with Cinq Shift:R gear levers for Rohloff. The levers on my bike are mounted under drop bars but they are more suited to flat bars.
They worked for about 9 years very well: a light push on one lever changed up, on the other lever down. Then changing up became stiffer; eventually it became impossible during a short tour, so I continued in a lowish gear. With Rohloff you just manually turn the connector the Shift:R box fits on - it stays in place as indexing is inside the hub.
I contacted Tout Terrain (Cinq is their in-house component brand). They offered to service the shift box. I sent it, Peter Behrens at Tout Terrain repaired it, replacing worn parts and one broken part. It cost 65.40 Euro including return delivery. It now works perfectly again, as it did for 9 years.
My experience with Tout Terrain has always been good. Recommended.

Cinq Shift:R gear levers for Rohloff - use and repair
I am NOT a cyclist. I enjoy riding a bike for utility, commuting, fitness and touring on tout terrain Rohloff, Brompton M3L (2004) and Wester Ross 354 plus a Burley Travoy trailer.

Re: Cinq Shift:R gear levers for Rohloff - use and repair
Nine months after one pawl ring failed the other one broke. The Cinq Shift:R box is on its way to Tout Terrain again, where Peter Behrmann (misspelled above, sorry) will repair it again. Last time he checked for hairline cracks but didn’t see any, so this repair will cost me money again. I suspect an error in design or material selection. When it’s working I‘m still happy with the two paddle changer.
