I wanted to share some further information about our venue, as our focus differs slightly. We specialise in supporting adaptive cyclists and are fully equipped for individuals who use disabled cycles. We currently run three well-attended weekly groups, providing regular opportunities for participants to engage in cycling activities in a supportive environment.
Our primary challenge at present is the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of our equipment. We maintain a fleet of 12 adaptive cycles, which include a range of models—from sit-on cycles to wheelchair-accessible options, where users can remain in their wheelchair and attach to a free-standing cycle that they can operate independently.
Given the specialist nature of this equipment, maintenance costs are significant. I would therefore like to ask whether there may be any funding available specifically to support the upkeep and sustainability of these cycles.
Any Funding for Adaptive cycles
Re: Any Funding for Adaptive cycles
British Cycling and your local council are good places to look for funding. There are also various companies and organisations that will make funds available for worthwhile projects.
