Yes 24 degrees is it,

Lots of scam air conditioners about. Clue is if there is no radiator or fan box to disipate the extracted heat, its a scam.

Apparently there are some that just evaporate water, these do work on a tiny scale but of course humidify the air which is not what you want.

Sitting In a plane getting ready for take off I noticed water vapour appearing from under the overhead lockers. Never seen this before. It felt very pleasant.
Nothing to do with heat in the home but interesting.
The plane was an Airbus A319.

Choose aisle seats and fly Airbus.

That was an engine failure that threw a turbine blade clean through the containment wall in the nacelle.

We have a new incinerator that burns the waste for the whole of Essex which opened last year

This has been in the news again this week. Apparently the engineers at Anglian Water underestimated the demand the incinerator places on the water supply, and people's taps in the local villages have been running dry.

The large windows of the house in which we now abide are inward-opening but I wouldn't put shutters over them windows. Sitting in the dark or artificial light, with no wonderful view, when the sun is shining on the beautiful landscape!? No, no, no.

Cut out 90% of the light, see out, take it down when not needed, and 10% is plenty to see by without the room lights.

We use similar stuff in our greenhouse to control high temperatures but its 30%. Very effective.

In the house we have very effective lined curtains. Juggling sashes, curtains and doors its easy to keep our place comfy - 24 -25 deg C maximum.

Seems there are some Chinese A/C units around that are ready coupled to the fans for easy install. Some from about £300.

In the house we have very effective lined curtains. Juggling sashes, curtains and doors its easy to keep our place comfy - 24 -25 deg C maximum.

I decided to try putting something outside the window because the benefit of drawing the curtains seemed to be wearing off after 15-20 minutes once the sun had warmed them.

India emissions per capita are rising but still only half ours, and the figures don't include embodied carbon.

Net zero is inevitable as fossil fuels are finite. The only question is how we get there
