Bafang sensors

Got an old Gazelle electric bike recently for a fair price. Meanwhile it is hesitant and I soon found out that signals from the wheel sensor is'nt right. First tried with bigger magnets, which helped a bit, but I realise that I must replace the sensor.
I have very little experience with ebikes, but I am an Electronic Engineer,

I found out that the sensor is a 'Bafang' with two wires - red and black. Also found another Bafang sensor on the net with same connector, so it went in the basket.

BUT - at receipt I found that the old and new ones had plugs and connectors - which matched Ahr - well, no problem for me to change over.
AND - the new one have four wires - red/black/yellow/blue. I think two of them are CAN bus related, but I don't need that.
SO - I need someone to tell me whether the old version red/black are the same signals, as I find in the new one???

The speed sensor gap can be critical. Too far or too close can be an issue.
