however, them're virtually worthless, i'll do you the favour of taking it away though

more seriously, it's lovely, if only they'd put box section alloy rims on so that the brakes work, and just the next grade up of tyres from very, very cheap it'd be perfect. are you attending the http://www.togglechaintour.co.uk/ ?

It does have alloy rims and the brakes work well, its a 1985 model. It runs beautifully, whisper quiet, just the swish from the tyres as you sail down a quiet country lane [if you can find one]. Why anyone pays so much for the modern day equivilent when these are available is beyond me. Yes I'm considering the toggle tour. Looks like fun. damn! that means I'lll have to keep it!

And this pic was too big, had to re-size again! This was on the way home on the Tuesday. Had the wind behind me for most of the 88 miles. Was doing even's for a lot of it. Not often you can say that on tour!

Despite not being intended for touring duties,the Bianchi actually makes a very good light tourer.Light,quick,fun to ride and can still carry a well stuffed old-bag. That's the Nelson longflap by the way!

here's my most recent accquisition. A Principia Rex ellipse. Mainly 9 speed Dura Ace but with FRM Cranks & my Mavic Heliums that I've been saving for such a bike. Also a brooks pro pre softened, that I bought at a Calais car boot sale

Yeah, a few spokes short of a full wheel but only .8125 of a front wheel rather than half (26 spokes) & .7777 of a back wheel (28 spokes) I wouldn't use them for anything other than quick blasts out. I've got to try the SSCs next, they look well stealthy I will of course resort to the standard 32/36 if I decide to keep it given I now weigh 16 stone..boooo

Took it for its maiden spin yesterday and apart from the well know Principia creak it was sound as a pound. The previous saddle was a Prologo Nago TR, I dont like my B17 narrow but the pro is excellent, in any case I already have a lightweight job on another bike

The new day bike as ridden on my recent audax event. Globe Pro with CF forks/Stays/seatpost. Upgraded with 36 hole Dure Ace/Open Pro Ceramic rear & 32 hole Dura Ace/CXP22 front, shod with Gatorskin 25's. Also a CF Bottechia flat bar, ITM Millenium stem & Club Roost bar ends + very solid Muddy Fox rack. Shimano PD-M747 pedals. Superb ride but a bit heavier than the outgoing Ridgeback Genesis

My 1964 Moulton Mark 1 Deluxe. Though over the years, quite a few of the components have been changed.It was green and white when I bought it in 1986. But I rather like bright red. The original 4 speed hub only ever worked properly in three gears,fourth was very difficult to get'.And the front dynohub was knackered too. I have NOS Sturmey' drum-hubs which I may get built into new wheels for the old girl.

I fancied taking this bike on the Thursday club ride today (a daft notion I had at 1130 last night!), but with some air in the tyres,bit of oil on the chain and a dust off,she was ready to go. Not bad as the bike hasn't been out of the shed for at least three years! And it was an excellent ride too.

As I wasn't planning on any more loaded touring(at least not more than the Thorn Audax Mlk3 can handle anyway) some time back I decided to sell the frame and forks of my long time friend the Galazon and with the money buy a lightweight fast day bike,so I transferred all the parts to this aluminium frame and carbon fork.I've been riding it for about 300miles so far and when I've put a few hundred more on I'll do a roadtest report.
