Ian at Wheel NV worked out the gearing and the granny is disabled - just haven't removed it.

The wheel is a Halo Freedom which Ian sourced when he built the wheel.

I bought the Rohloff from him as a complete setup.

Having towed my upwrong home (at speeds in excess of 30mph on the road)

My Catrike Speed which I have converted to take a 700c rear wheel

This is a 2008 Catrike Speed with the wheel extensions from Utah Trikes fitted which allow a big wheel to be used. I built the 700 wheel onto an XT hub and an old 20mm Rigida rim with double butted spokes. The crankset is a Shimano Ultegra 6603 Hollowtech II triple which I got for £80. The rear cassette is 11-34. I had to put smaller chainrings on the cranks to lower the gearing for the hills, now 48/38/24 but that gives gearing from 19" to 116", a development of 618% - an incredible range. The rear tyre is a 28mm Ultra Gatorskin from Continental. There wasn't room for a 37mm Marathon.

It's smoother on chipseal roads and more stable at speed with its longer wheelbase. The handling is excellent and there is less brake steer. I think it has more road presence now which is no bad thing.

My Scorpion fs
My Scorpion fs

Only a hundred miles or so until now, but soon to do a trip through the north-west of Scotland... Very comfortable, smooth Rohloff gears...
I'm not lost, I'm exploring.

Some of the roads around here suspension is something I'd certainly consider on my next 'bent (how come I'm already thinking about the next one ????)

I think that it's not until you've got a few miles in that you realise which bits are important to you. I , too, would be grateful of some bounce!

Mrs Bob wants one .......
Then you'll also need one for mini-Bob.

I'm also thinking that the new front suspension for my Trice Q will make some roads more rideable.

Luck ........... :D

I'd had the suspension on my upwrong locked out for a while, but then MUCH fatter tyres at 65psi have more give than thinnies at 110psi anyway...

Definitely a complete upgrade, I can't think how I'd add it on...

Some pictures of the paint job on my Trike.

It also has a complete new box of cogs front and back. Just need a new bar end shifter for the rear gears as I've lost some clicks, it goes from 3 to 6 on the clicks missing 4 & 5.
Cheers, Donald

The correct colour according to the car body shop place that I bought it is "Yamaha Violet". It looks even better in the flesh.
