How about some photographs of your local group, preferably cycling or enjoying elevenses.
Anyone thinking of joining will get to see the diversity of the groups and won't feel intimidated by the prospect.
On second thoughts.........

Looking at the group I was riding with last Sunday, I think a nice Sepia tint would suit us?

Thanks Karen, nice photos. I think that photos which emphasise the social side do a lot to encourage new people to have a go.

Hi Rob :D

One or two hold birth certificates that are in Latin

"Pretty fit", I would say "very fit" I was very impressed with the group indeed.
There's so many Teenagers that would'nt manage to ride 50+ miles on a bike, let alone at the ease they managed it.

I have found clubs which have an amphasis on racing, very "cliquey".
The CTC is VERY different. Members are colleagues/comrades, as opposed to rivals/adversaries.
I have heard horror stories where "new" riders in racing clubs are given a thorough pasting on club runs, just to reinforce the hierarchy. Not good.

Join your local CTC group, you'll be surprised how welcoming they are, as they have nothing to prove except their friendlieness.
