Would there be any interest in creating a light bulb sub-board on the forum?

What about dynamo v's battery?

Could we have a sub-sub-board for human powered light bulbs?

We have a low energy light bulb that's u/s. The thing is, there's mercury inside the base including electronic circuitry, so they need to be recycled rather than dumped.

We have a 20 mile round trip to take it to the recycling centre.

Not exactly "low energy".

If we can agree on which is the best type of light bulb I could order a shipment of 2000 from Alaska and split them up into packs of 10. Any one interested.

I have 2 light bulbs for each fitting so I can clean one while using the other. I replace each light bulb after 2000 hours so the worn light bulb does not wreck the fitting causing me to buy a new fitting.

Plainly, bayonet is superior. The screw-in type are American. 'nuff said :D

I'm going to wait and see which rotation system Mick F uses (Mick Fuses?) 8) He will have a system where two lightbulbs last 15,000 hours each and don't wreck the fitting :D

It depends. When you sit and read under the lightbulb, do you wear tweed and other natural fibres, or Lycra-based clothing? If the former, use the conventional boring lightbulb. If you wear lycra, just use the lowest wattage lightbulb you can find so that nobody can see you :|

You could save 'em up and make a nice little ride out of it. :)

Actually my thought was why we were being so retro and discussing bulbs at all when LEDs are more efficient!

You're all being bulbist - perhaps the bulb doesn't want to change.
