Knowledge about Carlton Bikes, please

Post by Davos119 »

Anything about Carlton Bikes?

Got my eye on a nice Carlton frame, 1970s I think, for a fixie project. All I know is that they were bought by Raleigh in 1960.

But I can't find anything about the run up to that.

Just out of interest, like.

A couple of former Carlton workers set up on their own after Worksop shut. Edison Cycles in Clowne N Derbys is one, a chap called Rick Powell was another if he's still going, formerly DD Enterprises of Dinnington S. Yorks.
