TCT2 Day 2
Here are the details for Day 2 again in Legs. If you are only riding Day 2, please note we are starting at 10.00am from The Camp Site http://www.southlytchettmanor.co.uk/ (Graham can you confirm there is parking here for day riders?). If not I suggest you park at Upton Country Park (see day 1 details) and cycle the 2.7 miles to the camp site from there. I will be cycling to the camp site so can meet you there at 9.30am if you PM me.
Leg 1 Camp Site to Corfe Castle 12.88 milesThis is the first official stop. There are several options at the end of this leg.
1. A ride on a steam train to Swanage. Train departs at 12.00 and will take an hour there and back. Cost £9.50 http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/n-timetable.htm
2. A look around Corfe castle ruins http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-corfecastle
3. A jolly nice tea shop at "The Model Village" http://www.corfecastlemodelvillage.co.uk/find.html. Here is the route:
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/34487100
Leg 2: Corfe Castle to Camp Site 17.8 miles I have chosen a flat and very quiet route for this leg. The 2nd official stop will be the ferry. Please bring a few quid for the Ferry!! Once we are over the Ferry then we can use the tea shops and ice cream parlours at Sandbanks. Relax on the beach have a paddle etc. Here is the route.
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/34488840
There is a more challenging route for Leg 2 via The Viewpoint which gives you a fabulous view across Poole harbour and rewards you with an ice cream van. The rest of us will meet you at the ferry. Here is the route from Corfe castle to the ferry. See you there!

I will publish the details for Day 3 (Run wot U Brung) in another post.

TCT2 Day 3 Run Wot U Brung
Here are the details. There is no need for a route map as we are riding along the prom, so no one can possibly get lost. It is of course totally flat, but may be wind assisted or resisted according to the weather on the day. We are meeting at Jazzy's Cafe Shore Road http://tinyurl.com/6hf7zd2 . We will then cycle to Mike's Beach Hut for a cuppa and a bickie or perhaps something more if we feel like cooking. (number 150). The numbering is completely screwy so if we have left by the time you get there ride along the prom until you pass the large bright blue pavilion.

Then look for Hut number 150. It isn't a hut its a brick and concrete "chalet".
From there we will ride to the end of the prom at Southbourne and if we feel like it, to Christchurch, then back to the beach hut for afternoon tea, games, swimming, water fights etc.
There is a car park at Shore Road near the cafe (not free). If you want to park free there is a large car park at Whitecliff Rec., which is about 10 minutes cycle ride away.

A four yard skip has just been deposited on my front lawn, so today I'm clearing out the garage and back shed. By lunchtime the skip will look like a Raleigh delivery lorry

Re: togglechaintour bikes
I see my local bike project have a Raleigh Trent Tourist frame for sale on Ebay.

http://spindlesandsprockets.blogspot.co ... -sale.html
I've not seen it myself so can't vouch for how good/bad/indifferent the condition is.

Re: togglechaintour bikes
I'll be travelling down to the vicinity of TCT by car tonight and staying overnight in the comfort of a B+B somewhere nearby, so will be getting to the campsite early morning tomorrow. I look forward to seeing you all then/later.

Sorry to hear that
Are you absolutely positively 100 percent sure? If you are, I'll take your tent out of the car
