Brompton mirrors

Post by Gower »

Any one aware of a rear view mirror for the Brompton that doesn't fit into the bar end?

Something like a Blackburn Mountain Mirror perhaps? http://www.velorution.biz/shop/blackbur ... in-mirror/

Where are you aiming to put this mirror? A mirror near the LH end of the bar tends to hit the ground when folded. A Bike-Eye low on the stem might work http://www.bike-eye.com/

The best mirror I have found for the Brompton, although it is bar end mounting, is the Zefal Dooback. Its a big easy to see in mirror but then can be flipped 180 degrees to lie out of the way alongside the grip when you fold the bike. Just flip it back when you unfold and its back in its original position ready to use without any adjustment.

I have used a Zefal Dooback on my Brompton for years and like Tony find it excellent. Is there any reason you don't want a bar end mirror?

Thanks for response but a bar end type mirror will not fit as the right hand grip contains the rotating throttle for the Nano motor.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Just had a thought, I've never tried a left hand mirror on a bike. Might be better than nothing!

THe B&M CycleStar are excellent and come with a band on bar mounting option:
