Re: togglechaintour bikes
It would indeed make a good tour-ette route. I don't think I'll have a chance to do anything this year, but will think about organising something for next. I'll need to think about accommodation, as the swanky place we stayed for two nights blew our entire year's holiday budget!

I'll need to think about accommodation,
There's no shortage of campsites in the Peak District . We could even rough it alongside one of the old railway lines .
There is a route - as yet to be completed, I believe, that links up the Monsal, Tissington and High Peak Trails. Flat routes - well, except for the formerly rope hauled sections , through a beautiful part of the country. Not the type of area one would normally associate with riding old roadster bicycles - therefore we should go .

i'd agree with that
Re: togglechaintour bikes
Would a bike with Benelux Mark 7 gears be allowed on the TCT? They do have a toggle chain.

I like Benelux gears, and that's a very fine example
But, here's the TCT rules http://graham.hopto.org/tct/?What_bike

Just to keep it going - I saw the start of the ToB in Taunton. There was a competition for period cyclists and the entries were excellet. Got me thinking that I need a project for the winter. Anybody got a small (16"-19") 531 frame for sale cheap?

Yes I think Graham still has my Viking Hosteller frame. Its a beauty, but too small at 19 1/2" even for Graham

Assuming it's the same one, it's listed in Graham's for sale section at http://www.togglechaintour.co.uk/

It's currently reserved for a chap in Wales, pending me packing it this weekend. Possibly the same chap?
Re: togglechaintour bikes
No, tis not I. Perhaps you could let me know if he doesn't buy it.

Personally, I've been feeling like a guilty interloper here ever since I let my CTC membership lapse and joined BC instead (for the 3rd party insurance, there's not a lot else that membership of BC benefits me). So I'll be quite relieved legitimately to use the new forum and leave this one to the bona-fide CTC members.
