Ah, good looking tent too. I remember taking the tent to the York Cycle Show a few years ago and had the folding bike tucked away in the porch area. Indeed, a superb tent, I've upgraded to a Vango Banshee 300 8)

Here's my Golite Shangri-la 3 with (Cumbria-made!) Oooknest mesh inner in an almost empty campsite in sunny Saintes, France, in June. It's 700g more than the TN Laser Comp (my other tent contender) but it's pretty roomy (for one person).

That's my Genesis Aether 20 having a snooze in the vestibule.

This is me by my Khyam Compact on its first outing to Great Gransden near St Neots. Not a light tent but good and cheap and roomy for one; sadly not made any more.

Thought i'd share a few pics with you of Foxy (the bike) and my Vaude Taurus Ultralight which has served me through thick and thin for a decade. It always gets admiring looks from other campers, its up and pegged in as little as two minutes, weighs under 2kg including a mallet and takes up hardly any space in my bags.

There are pictures in the gallery of three weeks riding from Bonn to Salzburg, a fortnight on Luneberg Heath, two weeks on the Baltic coast and best part of three weeks riding around Baden aka Black Forest land!

This is the legendary Seal Shore campsite at Kildonan on the Isle Of Arran. I am on there, down on the cyclists and walkers only front section if you have a magnifying glass.

Image

The following night at a semi-official site a mile or so outside Brodick.

Arran is really first class as far as cycling is concerned.

BTW, I stayed at the Crask last year and during dinner they were butchering deer on the kitchen table with a hacksaw....

The second was taken during my summer camping lejog and was taken in Somerset. My Dawes Vantage " for the tourist on a budget" - that's me! is resting behind the tent.

G'day

At Peak Charles on our Esperance to Perth ride in April 2010. Not a great pitch but it had been a hard day the day before.

The tent is a Big Sky International Evolution 1P (first incarnation) and the bicycle a 2009 Surly Long Haul Trucker.
