Out-walking the Grim Reaper

Post by snibgo »

At this time of year, the BMJ publishes research with an interesting spin. Researchers have discovered that old people who walk fast live longer or, in their words:
This supports our hypothesis that faster speeds are protective against mortality because fast walkers can maintain a safe distance from the Grim Reaper.

Perhaps one of the few medical research reports to cite T Pratchett and JK Rowling as references.

The Grim Reaper came for me last night, and I beat him off with a vacuum cleaner. Talk about Dyson with death.

Oh dear, I am a slow walker and rarely do 3 mph on flat terrain.

In the Lakes if out for 6 -10 hours I average less than 2 mph

I better be careful
