Headcam prosecutions.

This has been touched on in various threads but I don't remember if there's ever been any collation of successful reports which have lead to prosecutions. (No doubt somebody will remind me if there has.)

So, it would be interesting to hear from anybody who has reported something to the police using headcam footage to corroborate their allegation AND the result has been a prosecution, rather than, for example, an assurance that the offender will be spoken to.

A driver was given a written warning for due car and attention after an incident caught on my camera.
Unfortunately since then the police have made it more difficult to report anything so I will not bother wasting my time unless I am injured or bike damaged.

I've had success with footage but not with a Police prosecution. I was stopped at a red light and a taxi shot through the lights at speed. Reported to the Licencing Office at the council who took action which resulted in a 3 month suspension of the driver's hackney licence at a Public Safety Meeting which the driver took the option to appeal but changed his mind before the case went to court as he realised he could end up with a longer suspension or worse. The suspension was served over the christmas period which for a hackney cab is a big earner.
I've now taken the footage down from YT as a privacy claim ws filed on the clip exactly one year after I uploaded it, the privacy infraction was at the point in clip where I spoke the VRN which isn't a breach of privacy as it is in the public domain.

You appear to have omitted to say what the registration number of the taxi was - we need that so it can be established beyond doubt that the driver has learned from his mistakes? Have you thought of reposting the footage with the soundtrack altered to change the audible clue to the drivers (in)ability to leave only the visual evidence?

On the basis that dissatisfied people are the most likely to speak up, I was hoping that in the midst of all the accounts of being fobbed off, there might be some untold experiences of headcam successes. Silly me.

Well Dave Brennen (Magnatom on youtube) has had problems with dangerous driving and the Police, but I'm aware Cyclegaz has had some small success (van driver).
