Last year, I hurt my fingers in my front wheel.

This afternoon, I've crushed my little finger under a big lump of granite. It hurts a lot! Just come back from seeing the nurse and I've got a nice big bandage on. Rotten woman wouldn't give me sling.

I'm now typing with one hand. Right hand held up out of the way, so my posting will be brief and infrequent until I'm healed up. Think some of you may be relieved!

One hand typing isn't too difficult with a Mac. You can set it for "sticky keys" so shift, control, command all can be done seperately. Perhaps PCs can do that too ?

Any road up, that's me not cycling - or doing much else for the next few days. I was in the throes of fixing a wall .........

Oh well.

it's only the younger end who tend to have IT skills, certainly not the likes of inspectors.

P.S. I trapped my little finger yesterday. Trapped it using a bolster chisel when splitting some fencing apart.

You're not alone in suffering injuries. Last week in work I made contact with my shin on some white goods, then did the same the following night on exactly the same spot

No.

Cycling with a poorly squashed pinkie sounds a lot of pain when I apply the front brake. Also, the idea of even gripping the 'bars brings a tear to my eye.

I went back to see the nurse at 5.30 as my bandage was filling up with blood, the huge haematoma had burst. Sorry, no photograph as I can hardly bring myself to look at it! No doubt I'll lose my nail.

The bandage was replaced, and this morning it's still seeping with blood. I've another appointment at 3pm today. Poor night's sleep with the pain, so I'm not a happy bunny at all.

Next time you think about doing anything with your hands sit them,that should stop any further injury

Sounds very painful. Brings back memories of hitting my thumb with a lump hammer and my dear ol' dad standing a washing machine down on my toe. Happily these things didn't happen at the same time. Both were amongst the most painful injuries I've had, broken bones aside.

Sympathy, Mick - hope it heals well and the pain gets bearable.

Good reason for giving up DIY if you ask me. Why bodge it up yourself when you can pay someone to bodge it professional? Think that may be an Uncle Mort saying.

Our son has slashed his finger climbing, when I phoned him to ask if he had had it looked at I was told no. then "you are a good one to talk you just wrap tape around it and never bother".
I did correct him in that I always put a plastic bag on the cut first and when the task is complete if nagged enough I get the cut looked at.

Mick it should stop hurting in a day or so. Did they check for nerve or tendon damage?

Hi guys.
Finger feeling much better today. I had TWO nurses attending to me yesterday! Lovely, caring, sympathetic, gentle, friendly. I can't thank them enough.

They fitted a thicker bandage with padding, so if I knock it, it doesn't hurt. I've another dressing change due this afternoon, but I think that may be the last for a few days as it's healing nicely. It doesn't throb, the nurses said that because my nail has lifted, it's letting the pressure out!

The weather today would have been perfect for a ride, the rains seem to have abated somewhat - about time too. If my finger continues to improve - and the weather holds - I'll be out riding and that will definitely make be better.

I can type with two hands now BTW.
