CTC Saffron Walden, Haverhill area

I am looking into the viability of a CTC group in the Saffron Walden, Haverhill and surrounding area. I recently moved to Linton and have cycled with the Cambridge DA for 10 years. I ride regularly, most Sundays, but don't always want to ride into Cambridge. I am interested in whether there is enough interest in forming either a separate group or perhaps a section attached to another group, maybe Cambridge.

This is just a little idea I had, but if I get enough interest, I would be keen to look at setting something up.

I'd contact the Secretary of CTC Cambridge, Nigel Deakin, and talk about setting up an informal group for your area. Nigel will be able to tell you how many members are in your catchment area.

With an informal group you won't need a committee and all the other stuff that makes running a group a PITA.

Are you nearer to Bury St Edmunds. The Suffolk CTC has recently become active in that area and few members are organising rides
