Edd stands for electronic diametre deductor and is Damon Rinard's excellent spokecalc.xls rewritten as a web application using Django, SQLite and jQuery. It uses the same formula and hence delivers exactly the same results.

Additional hub measurements came from Arup.

drop down lists of different hubs.rims etc show you the dimensions being used when you click on them, or you can enter your own.

works fine for me;

either your browser isn't compatible (I've got windows 7 /IE8 on my netbook, not tried it on my XP machine), you are getting the wrong numbers...? - or perhaps you are not doing it quite right (instructions are sparse...); in case it is the latter try this.

1) select a hub, e.g. press 'campagnolo' button, then select chosen hubset, (e.g. 1999+ Athena front) -highlights in blue.
2) select a rim, e.g. search 'Mavic', select (say) A119 (307ERD) -highlights in blue.
3) select drillings e.g. 32 -highlights in blue
4) select crossings e.g. x3 -highlights in blue

bingo- 297.4mm

You can add decimal crossing values, and decimal spoke numbers; these are mad for 'normal' wheels, but essential for weird spoking patterns. You can also add your own values instead of using the drop-down lists.

Obviously anyone can add data, so some of it may be duff; hence it is good to do a sanity check on the values, which are quite visible.

I have the same problem but if you just ignore it you will get your answers.

It happens when you try and browse for hubs/rims, it wants you to input something into the searchbar before you press the "browse" button.

I can make it do the same thing; I just click 'OK' then enter something into the search bar and carry on. It then works fine.

It may just be a wee bug, not a show-stopper.

nice one. works fine for me with chrome and windows 7. gives slightly different results than spocalc. rim data base could use some improving.

I think several Mavic rims have more than one value on the list for no apparent reason. The actual reason (I think) is that Mavic used to measure ERD differently to everyone else...

[aside; a French firm, doing things differently? Non! ...n'est pas possible.. . Oh. It is, then....]

But then we all know you should measure your own rim anyway, if you want to be 100% sure...

spocalc also has the +3mm for certain Mavic rims but only a few I think. never understood it either, why some and not all?

edit: just noticed it's based on spocalc, so a bit odd it gives slightly different results on my random check.

I've been using this one for a few years - and always use at least one other (Sapim or DT Swiss) to compare - belts and braces

Works fine and dandy for my Mac and Firefox
