I was in Decathlon at the w/end and was looking at these, they seems to be an aweful lot of MTB for the money and I believe got some good press when tested too.
Last/this years model was a bit garish with the red and white livery but the new grey and blue one is quite a good looking bike to boot:-

Hmmm,my head has been turned, whether my pocket can follow suit I shall have to wait and see.............

Looks none too bad for the money. Pity it looks like there're no rack mounts and it doesn't give an overall weight (although weights given by shops/catalogues are normally very optimistic anyway).

The lack of rack mounts is a bit disappointing but it could be overcome
I picked a large size one up in the store and was amazed how light it was TBH,if I had to guess I'd say around 24to25lb

Re: Rockrider 8.1 2012
EDIT : Sorry just seen date this was posted
I ride the 8.1 (garish colored one) had it a year now, Done loads of trail centre riding and got some good Strava times on the downhills in the peaks nothing has broken yet
The spec is excellent for the money if the frame said specialised etc on it the price would be nearer £800. The only weak point i found was the wheels although recently i changed the bars and converted it to fully rigid and singlespeed but thats becouse i cant help but mess with things.

I'd agree with everything that is said here. I had Triban 3 for a while and it was superb - good frame for the money and some excellent components. The wheels always seem to be a weak point with Decathlon bikes - B'Twin tyres are poor too. Factor in adding a new saddle and some tyres to the purchase price of any new B'Twin bike. The wheels will need to be replaced in roughly a year too.
