Indicator lights for helmet wearers

Post by gar »

I have decided that what we really need for complete safety on the road is compulsory helmets with built in indicator lights so that motorists know which way we are turning.

This is follwing Japanese and korean gimickry to the limit since a WELL equipped cyclist could then have the following:

Compulsory helmet
Compulsory rear view mirror (on the helmet)
Walkman installation in helmet
compulsory indicator lights on the helmet

Halfords should do well with import mark up on that little lot!

Wot say U?

I'm going to get one of those!
It is the status I have always
needed.
Fantastic! How much are they?
People have such good ideas!

They would have to be rather too large to be effective, would they not?

It's not an indicator light. It is a brake light.
Goes on when you brake. Motorists would not even notice.

A well meaning colleague brought one of these to work, thinking I would be impressed.
However, I have never seen such cheap and nasty rubbish.
It's the sort of thing non-cyclists think cyclists will find irresistible.
It really is a piece of cr@p.

I don't want no shares in Argos, have you seen the rear cycle pannier rack item no. 036/2779? Fitted by an "inebreated" cycle mechanic, possibly??

Re Halfords
In y opinion halfords mechanics cant repair bikes properly to save themselves as i have stood and observed them.
i tried for a bike mechanic job in Halfords a couple of years ago and they told me that because i was over 40 i didnt fit in with their corporate immage never mind the fact i have over 30 years self taught experience of repairing bikes and can repair bikes to a very high standard.
I can strip clean and rebuild a bike to a very high standard but i bet a halfords bike mechanic couldnt!!!!!

Well the heading of the thread was a spoof really
so roadrunner can be forgiven for mentioning
Argos or is it Ugghos now?

As for Halfords and Spanners; that is just simple.
