Lloyds bank cinema ad-bicycle going the wrong way!
Lloyds bank cinema ad-bicycle going the wrong way!
Just been to the cinema with my daughter and sat through the ads at the beginning. One of them was a little shocking ; it was one of the animating Lloyds bank ' for the journey' ads with the Uzbek composers ballet music in the background. Unfortunately can not find a link on YouTube .
Basically, the premise was'everyones different'. It was a guy approaching a roundabout on a motorbike with a small child in a sidecar. he went straight on on the roundabout, using the left hand lane, but as he did so, he went past a bicycle on the roundabout, using a lane painted blue and going the wrong way around the roundabout and then being shown similarly going down the road on the wrong side of the road!!
Why does this happen. If I find it on YouTube I will post it here.

That link doesn't work for me, but this one does. (Yours is a mobile link)

I'm not sure I understand your question though. The world is surreal, everything about it is deliberately wrong...

I wouldn't get hung up about that. I wouldn't make any literal inference from the driving (and even less about their banking).

No , but the world kind of appeals to children, and it just annoys me.
Yes insuppose it shows I'm pretty sad that its the only thing I really notice about it. Oh well......

Given the lack of cars and the fantastically wide, and respected, cycle land I wish I lived there!

Cycling against the traffic flow is very common (but not approved) in North America.
Perhaps it's an international ad?

The CS8 at Wandsworth Gyratory goes both ways round the gyratory right hand side (looking from Wandsworth Town station). The offroad path is two way (and blue). So it could happen!

I haven't checked recent statistics, but some years ago, cycling against traffic acounted for a high proportion of fatal accidents involving a cyclist in the USA.

When I was a teenager in the USA, referring to oneself as a 'bicyclist' was an important part of being a serious cyclist.

Where are the parked cars in the cycle lane - that's what I want to know!
