Whoops! Now corrected. Was copying and pasting two things for two purposes. The other party is probably similarly confused!

It has its critics I know, but I quite like the Tavistock Place route. It is, if nothing else, an interesting piece of cycle infrastructure.
So I'd use the 'Balanced' route here, and had no problem following it the first time, though I do know London fairly well... http://www.cyclestreets.net/journey/2405512/

A quick look round the Outer Circle in Google Streetview shows "no cycling no skating" painted on the ground at all the entry points I looked at - so I'm guessing they don't want people cycling (or skating)!

Not quite true and they have opened up the Broadwalk in Regent's Park to cyclists - http://www.royalparks.org.uk/about-us/c ... broad-walk
A summary of permitted cycling in the Royal Parks - the only place where speed limits do apply to bicycles - is available at http://www.royalparks.org.uk/about-us/c ... oyal-parks and in the past when the Royal Parks have done something stoopid for cycling a letter to their Chief Exec has usually got rapid action. Their cycling policy is set out in http://www.royalparks.org.uk/__document ... y_2008.pdf
