Leo Road Club 1950s

Post by WindyMiller »

My father Charles (Charlie) Shrosbree use to belong to the Leo Road Club in the 1950s. Margaret (Peggy) Sweeney was a member too, whom he married and they recently celebrated their 54th anniversary.

Cycling was a pleasure to him, and a major part of his life. Although extremely ill he continued to ride his bike until a few months ago; aged 79.

Unfortunately my father died on Saturday 22nd September 2007.

I understand the club colours were white, dark green and dark blue in the 50s – and his flowers will be these colours.

I just wondered if anyone had any information about the club in the 50s, especially if it included my Dad.

Regards
Chas Shrosbree

I would see if you can send a letter to the VCC magazine News &Views, you should get some information there I would even bet some of the chaps rode with your dad.
