I don't think it's that grey...
Basically the law says that if you can expect privacy then being photographed is illegal, if not then it isn't.

If you're in your bedroom you can expect privacy, ditto the public loo. Football field - not a chance.

But really, would it not be easier just to wear one?!

I don't have one and I don't intend to buy one.

Wouldn't it be easier to just agree with compulsion?

First they came for...

It's a point of principle - cycling is no more dangerous than walking, and probably a good deal less dangerous than being drunk, but we don't mandate (possibly dubious, not a discussion for this thread) safety wear for those activities...

I will not pander to peoples skewed perceptions of danger (except maybe MrsBob's)
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Interesting point. Personally I think people should be left to decide if they want to wear a helmet or not - until it becomes law in the UK to wear one. So, would I be turned away from some charity rides if I didn't have a helmet on the day? We are doing the Bike4Cancer London to Brighton bike ride in September? Does anyone know if helmets are compulsory? It doesn't mention this on their website: http://www.bike4cancer.org/london-to-brighton-bike-ride I always wear a helmet these days but two of the lads I am riding with never do!
