Would love to know how your getting on with and your thoughts on the how the Akto is performing as a cycle touring tent.

Hiya - with regards to the Akto, it's a superb touring tent, and I'd thoroughly recommend it. It survived all sorts of weather and didn't leak once. I had a pole break latterly but that's because someone fell on it, so no design fault. Sometimes the pegs are a little hard to get into the ground, due to the dry weather, however I came across a tip on that - use a piece of copper plumbing tubing (3 way junction), that slots around the end and allows you to push the peg in more easily.

I'm back in Norwich now but still updating the blog - just got back into England on that! Thinking about next trip now, maybe up to Artic Circle via Norway, and tentative thoughts about round the world.

Cheers,

James

North Wales was proving wet and windy, but Anglesey was nice. Reckon the Isle would make a good road race if you did a circuit, imagine there may well be something like that organised already:

I've updated my blog with a couple more Welsh legs, and a gallery of some of my favourite pics from tour.

Been back at work 3 weeks now, missing life on the open road! Ordered Alastair Humphreys round the world cycling books to gain some inspiration, seriously tempted to go for it.
