It was the case when I got mine on the 28th Mar. I don't think they intend stocking them in the Oxford Circus branch. Try Marble Arch first.

You were lucky to get them at £32. I ordered them online (stone colour), and they were £39.50.

ah, just noticed that you are right.

And noted that delivery seems to be free in the UK if you spend more than £50.

But free in Oz, New Zealand and the States if you spend more than just £30.

Looks like the marketing/pricing wonks have been at em.

I'll still check them out when I get a mo though I suppose an alternative is just to buy a cheap thin pair of jeans for cycling

I went ti check them out just now and noticed the price hike - not a problem as they don't have my size in stock. +1 to the comment about leg lengths.

Not sure if its a price hike per say, as originally they were £39.95 or something, it was just that they were on sale at £32.

I've had the opportunity to wear these in a couple of downpours over the last few weeks and I have to say they are useless at being rainproof. On short rides around my neighbourhood I've been soaked through - no different to wearing ordinary jeans, say.

So by all means buy them for the fit - they are comfortable - by all means buy them for the little cycling details - if you fancy them - but don't believe any of the 'water shedding' claims. When it rains you will get wet.

thanks for the update.

As cycling has become uber fashionable in some parts there have been a few cycling jeans/chinos/pants come out - some seriously pricey.

Am wondering if, since my sitting in trendy bars days are over, I'm not just as well getting a pair of thinnish (therefore inherently stretchy) jeans from one of the obvious shops - in fact I think M&S also does some cheapish jeans amongst its more expensive lines.

any hints on suitable pants appreciated.

I've found them reasonably waterproof for the short rides I do, and they are comfortable as well. I think if they did them in black I'd probably own a few more pairs...

If anyone tries a pair in 34w 31leg and doesn't get on with them, drop me a pm.

They sound ideal for my daily rides

I had some money left on a gift card, so I've ordered a pair online. Should be delivered to my [LBS] LM&SS on Thursday.

Waterproofing would be nice, but I only want them for riding to meetings and other local evens where I'm wearing civvies. Full-scale bike gear is fine for actual cycling.

These look an awful lot like a type of women's legwear known as jeggings :D

Does anyone have a longer term report on these, please?

Planning to buy a pair or two.

Thanks

I've had mine for a year or so & am still happy with them. They are comfortable trousers that I wear sometimes even when I'm not going cycling. They work well on the bike too. The bit of stretch means they don't feel tight. The hem poppers work to keep trouser bottoms & chain apart. The D ring & zipped pocket don't seem very useful to me but they may work for others. I can't comment on how effective the reflective bits are as I am always in them when they might be doing anything. They will shrug off a light shower but don't expect them to keep off much more than that.
