Shipping a recumbent

Post by mark aldridge »

I am being driven mad trying to get information out of courier companies.

Does anyone know of a courier company that can ship my recumbent to Germany.

I appear to be banging my head against a brick wall with the maximum size clause.

Thanks

Mark

When I bought my trike second hand, I arranged for paisley freight to ship it. All it needed was boxing by the seller and labeling

Paisley freight organised the couriers to ship it from seller to me.

http://www.comparecargorates.com/getaqu ... e=accurate

found that site when i was looking to send my trike to Aus

I used Interlink Express to sent a Trike about a year ago. I don't recall the cost but I don't think it was too bad. I found a great big tripple walled cube shaped box at work that was perfect.

Drop a line to a 'bent dealer, especially one that deals with German trikes, and see how they'd go about a warranty return...
Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...

Not sure about their max. size dimensions but parcel2go are cheapish, around £20 for a bike box collected from home.

I was sent a trike fully assembled via FedeX, don't know the cost as I didn't pay. I have also been sent two other ICE trikes, one folding and one not, but both in the same size relativly small box.
I still have the box should the dimensions be of any use? None of these international so maybe not that much help. It has to be possible. Good luck.
